Precautions for electric kettles

Jun 15, 2022

The water injection should not exceed the maximum water level, so as to avoid overflowing the kettle when the liquid boils.

The rated power of electric kettles is generally large, and the capacity of power plugs, sockets, and power cords should be selected appropriately, preferably more than 10 amps, and should be used independently to ensure safety.

Always keep the power plugs, sockets, power cords and automatic switching devices of the electric kettle dry and clean, and should not be washed with water, so as not to damage the electrical insulation due to moisture, causing failure and leakage.

Using an electric kettle that is still connected to the power supply just after boiling can easily cause hazards. The plug should be unplugged first, cut off the power supply, and then use boiling water to ensure safety.

Every time the electric kettle has boiled milk, coffee, etc., a layer of residual dirt may be attached to the electric heating tube, which should be carefully cleaned after each use. After a long time of use, there will be some scale or other dirt attached to the pot or the surface of the electric heating tube, which should be checked regularly and cleaned up. The automatic electric kettle should not be immersed in water when cleaning, so as not to affect the electrical insulation of the automatic switch.

When using an electric kettle, it must be filled with water first, and then powered on. Do not power on first and then fill with water. Filling the kettle with water should be at least the minimum water level line, but should not exceed the specified maximum water level line. Do not use an electric kettle to cook things with acid, alkali and salt to avoid corrosion of the kettle body and heater. Moreover, the scale or other stains on the electric heater should be removed frequently, otherwise the thermal efficiency and service life of the electric heater will be affected. When the electric kettle is not in use, it should be placed in a dry place to avoid moisture and reduce the safety performance. Carefully conduct a comprehensive inspection of the plug and power cord; if any damage is found, it can only be repaired or replaced at the repair point designated by the manufacturer. The electric kettle can be connected to AC power, and the socket it uses must have a ground wire device. Never pull, crimp or let it hang along the tip. Also, keep away from heat and moisture sources!
